A passionate baseball card collector, Terry was twelve when he met Juan Marichal, the star pitcher for your San Francisco Giants, at an exhibition activity and obtained him to sign the sport software, upon which Marichal instantly perspired. For days afterward, Mr. Cannon recalled, he ran all over his neighborhood crying, “Glance, I’ve bought Juan Marichal’s sweat!”

He graduated from San Francisco Point out University in 1974 after which you can labored for his father, who experienced retired, at Skinned Knuckles, a regular monthly publication for vintage and antique automotive restorers. (His father collected prewar Studebakers.) He stayed there for almost 30 yrs.

He also Launched Pasadena Filmforum (now Los Angeles Filmforum), which exhibits experimental films. Just after stepping down in 1983, he released Spiral, a journal about experimental movie, and an underground arts newspaper, Gosh!

By the time he started off the reliquary in 1996, his baseball collecting had shifted in the baseball trading cards of his youth to a lot more sophisticated artifacts and ephemera. The Shrine from the Eternals commenced in 1999.

He labored for the classic-auto journal right until 2005, when he offered it for $1. He then moved to a different day work as being a high school library technician and later being a library assistant for the Allendale branch in the Pasadena Public Library.

In addition to his spouse, he is survived by his sisters, Barbara and Nancy, and his brother, Philip.

When Mr. Cannon was close to Dying, his spouse reported, she wished to mail him off by invoking the names of two Adult males who represented his passions, for baseball and in addition for jazz.

One was Jim Bouton, who when called the reliquary the “individuals’s hall of fame.” (He died previous year.)

One other was Sun Ra, the avant-garde pianist and bandleader who died in 1993.

“In an enthusiastic voice, just as if I were being viewing them,” Ms. Cannon recalled, “I claimed: ‘Terry — wow!— Sunlight Ra and Jim Bouton are right more than there plus they’re awaiting you.’ And outside of his in the vicinity of-Dying state, he lifted his eyebrows up and down twice, curled his lip and squeezed my hand. 3 breaths afterwards he was long gone.”
